How I came to Christ

Just over a year ago I was chasing a long-time dream: Making it to Hollywood. Music had always been my passion and I just desperately wanted to achieve the "ultimate success" of landing a record deal and being featured on billboards. I came across many opportunities, made many connections and worked on songs I was convinced were hit-material... and although I seemed closer and closer to a breakthrough, I still felt empty inside.

That is simply because I was very far away from our Maker. I had completely forgotten about God although growing up hearing about Him on Sundays. I actually rebelled against Him after years of being forced into Christianity.

One night in June 2020, I found myself broken. Life was just not what I wanted it to be; maybe my music career looked promising but my relationships were wrecked, and I had no idea what to do about them. In that moment, I turned to God, why? I guess because all along I knew deep down that if my emotional life wasn't healthy, it was because I kept God out of it. I turned to Him in despair and quick He was to act.

The next day, someone I had only met once and exchanged Instagrams with messaged me and invited me to her church. I was hesitant at first and didn't make up my mind until midnight of the night before.

That Sunday, it felt like the pastor was speaking directly to me. I remember him saying "if Jesus had quality relationships, you can have quality relationships with people too". That was exactly what was going on in my life, every relation with people around me were on the brink of collapse. When the  man of God finished preaching the Word, he made a salvation call. "Give my life to Christ? I've already done that" I thought. Then the pastor said "or maybe you have before and want to do it again", and there I raised my hand and repeated the prayer. Truth is, I had never given my life to Christ before, I know that because from that day, my life changed. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that we are made new creations in Christ, and that is exactly what happened to me. I thank God for realigning me and showing me exactly who I am. Today, my mission is to bring His word to all those who can relate to my story, through my music.
